Ahhhh — William Shakespeare.
I do not have resolutions because I’ve been resolving and dissolving parts of me over this past year as I’ve cared for my mother. It is a treasure and honor to be there for her–to nurture, adore, uplift, and hold in sweetness (though we have our moments).
When young, I took the road less traveled. Not because I wanted to — but because my soul demanded that I travel this way. Today, I sit with knowing. Knowing that it was the path I was meant to journey–a path that’s led me to my art and poetry.
These days, I smile mostly when alone. And, that is my greatest triumph through it all. All the pain, suffering, challenges today bring me inner joy — bring me deeper into stillness, beauty and grace.
Ahhh, like an aged wine

2008 - I heard today that there was a Christmas comet - a rare occurance and an astrologers said this will be a very good year.
I wish everyone year of focusing on the good, on what we wish for and on what we are grateful for because what we focus on increases.
A good practice is to start a book of abundance and list daily 5 things we are grateful for.
This is one of my resolutions for the coming year.
Hold the light and cheers !

“What is past is prologue” is carved onto the cornerstone of the National Archives. It’s a Shakespeare quote, from ummmm. . .I had to look it up, The Tempest.
I don’t make New Year’s Resolutions. It seems somehow artificial. In this year, when January falls in the middle of things–my husband 2,500 miles away, I’m living with 5 T-shirts and four paints, a new beginning is still several months away.
My goal is to keep my spirits up and know that the house will sell, sooner or later, and I’ll once again have a room of my own.
And to keep working toward that goal.

“The past is prologue”…Yes, I suppose it is. We certainly can’t live in it, and I for one wouldn’t want to. I does serve as a set of lessons, which is how I usually choose to see it. (Mucked that one up - won’t do that again! File that memory away!)
Hopes, dreams, plans, wishes? They are frequently subject to change. Wouldn’t want to become too set in my ways, now would I?
Resolutions? Never make ‘em. It’s too easy to break them and then feel upset with yourself, which is always counter productive.
I am looking forward to the new year. But then, I tend to look forward to a new day (especially if it’s a weekend day and I can sleep in.) Now if I can just remember to write 2008 on my checks…I only just got used to writing 2007!
