I love Rosamunde Pilcher books...they give me a satisfied, happy feeling. I tend to reread Shell Seekers in the Spring so I can rekindle that 'content with life' feeling and appreciate all the small pleasures in life. All her books take you away to that warm spot inside yourself that brings you happiness.

I first read her after a favorite cousin called from Chicago and said 'you must read this book'. We have both been huge fans ever since!

Zen surely gets around what with the seeing and the thinking and the knitting! The second and last of your titles sound like they'd appeal to me so I think I'll be taking a look at those. Can one 'learn' not to be tone deaf or are you trying to work out why that bit of your brain missed out on the music front. As I recall there were always books scattered about in your loft.

What an extraordinary list - not that it comes as a surprise! Have you come across, 'The Zen Knitting Guide for Vampires' - it's a cult poem written specially to help insomniac cats get off to sleep.
How could anyone who writes like you not be an eclectic reader.

Curious Incident...exceptional novel, incredibly moving. I confess to no knowledge of the others except to say if they find a way to shove anyone up the Himalayas - actually IN an armchair - I'm there with bells on!

I logged in today for a little look round after my long leave of absence and your eclectic list gave me food for thought - and a little push. You're a spiritual soul - and practical - and thoughtful - and inquisitive - and I absolutely agree that book lists change on a whim and a mood.

And with that she picked up her harp and began to sing....

and learned, as we fellow travelers are learning, that growth sometimes means letting go of an old backpack full of the rocks we have collected along the way, finding that there are tastier treats in life than bacon, learning the gift of reinvention, and that it's never too late to have a happy childhood!
