Il Taverna di Muse is a lively place for the participants of the Soul Food Cafe writing collective to post their completed short stories, poems, photography, songs, and artwork. In addition, the Bluestocking Society meets in the Lounge to engage in lively discussion on a variety of topics.

This is looking so enticing Lori. I am sure we will have quite a crowd gathering here. The table settings look wonderful and the Tavern is in such a lovely part of the City of Ladies. Bravo!

Oh, this looks so inviting. I feel the warmth of welcome here. It is a place to relax the fingers and brain after a long day of writing. The writer’s life is a lonely one, and the idea of good fellowship at the end of the day is not only relaxing, but stimulating, too, for the subconscious and the dreams that will manifest later into plots.

Oh I can see myself pulling up a chair and a bowl of mama cooked pasta and some red wine – and discussions long into the night!

May I sit near the fire? It is quite cold here and I would love to bring my journal and watercolors and pencils and sit near the fire, sip tea, and draw.

I see my table in the corner is set – prepared,
that I might sit in the glomming
twixt laughing fire and dimming sunset lights
which calls forth singer, story-teller and all …
and I can watch in smoldering glee
the patrons and guests gathered here –
reach out to embrace the cherished moment,
absorb the soft-trembled fears,
and offer a distant message gentle …
if you hear this silent call –
not from my now aging form,
but from what I have ever been and more …
then send a dream onto the garden walk,
where our spirits might draw down the moon,
and dance to the chiming stars –
just because we can.

In the early hours between midnight and 3am and the waking hours between 4am and a little before 6am when there may be an occasional quiet spell, …. I aim to come and scribble, watch the night people and the shadowing flicker of dimmed lights, sip a latte, …..oh Lori…. what a gift.

The Tavern has been an instant hit Lori. I am so proud of the work you have done rennovating it. I can feel like coming back into this old building and it is all because of you. What inspiration!

If I could dance
I would dance
If I could sing
I would sing a song of the sea
I drink to the folk
who have share time for me
and will meet you in the morning
for crumpets and tea. Fran (cronelogical)

Lori, This is the place of my dreams… somewhere to retreat, to relax, to share stories, meet old friends and spend the lonely hours betwixt dusk and dawning.

Mmmmm-good! I just wanted to thank the proprietor and chef of this fine establishment. I had an early dinner here on New Year’s day. Esplendido! I was all but speaking fluent Spanish afterwards. I was only able to get through three of the four main courses-I did not have room for dessert. I will return soon to remedy that situation. The grilled shrimp was especially delicious. I don’t know what spices/herbs you used, but you had better keep the recipe a secret. You don’t want too many cooks spoiling your business.

Thanks, Cheshire, for sampling the virtual fare. I will have to give my virtual chef a raise. 🙂

Oooooooohhh, as soon as I walked through the doors my mouth began watering!! I can smell such lovely temptations from the kitchens.
As I am led to a comfortable chair and a low-slong table adorned with hangoing oil lanterns and a tablecloth of unbleached linen, I let my forest green shawl droop from my shoulders to my waist.
I am so looking forward to this new hangout, I already recognize a number of faces from my travels in Lemuria. I feel more like I am comong home than walking into a new place.
What a lovely place you have crearted Lori. Bravissima!!

My kind of wonderful place … I can sink myself into the atmosphere and mull over all of my mystical musings as I study all of the beautiful visitors surrounding me!
Waiter … red wine here please!

Most lovely to be in your company! I’m new to Lemuria and the energy of this tavern is most pleasant. I’m choosing to simply snuggle in with you all and release any ponderings of responsibility — aaaahhh. Now, that’s it. Pull your chairs a little closer and let’s order a round of that warm fragrant stew and a flagon of drink. I’d like to get to know this place and its people better.

Hi Lori,
I’ve enjoyed reading the messages and join in the good wishes for a lovely site. It is great to spend time with other like-minded people who also love the arts of all kinds.
Most of my work is digital these days, but it will be good to get back to doing some work with real materials too.
